Christopher Mills
is the founder and Managing Director of Chrysalis
Communications, a Kingston, Jamaica-based full
service creative firm which specialises in professional
graphic
design and web site development.
During 2002-2003 the company produced among other
things, new packaging for products manufactured by
P.A. Benjamin; outdoor advertising and package design
for Lascelles Laboratories, as well as designed and
produced printed publications for various institutions
and businesses, including Annual Reports for ICD
Group Limited, the Planning Institute of Jamaica,
the Jamaica Social Investment Fund and several publications
for the University of the West Indies.
While doing so, the company has also established
itself as among one of the better web development
firms in Jamaica; having designed and maintained
web sites for companies such as InfoChannel, International
Insurance Brokers, West
Indies Home Contractors, P.A.
Benjamin and most recently, Dehring
Bunting and Golding.
In 2003, recognizing a need as expressed by their
web development clients, Mr. Mills was instrumental
in the founding of Chrysalis
Hosting, a new subsidiary
of Chrysalis Communications dedicated to providing
feature-rich, but affordable, fast internet web site
hosting solutions.
Prior to establishing and successfully managing Chrysalis
Communications, he worked for three years as the
full-time in-house media designer for Mechala Group
Jamaica Limited (now ICD
Group). There, he was instrumental
in the creation of designs ranging from new product
packaging, billboards, calendars, annual reports
and also, for the maintenance of the websites for
the seventeen-company strong conglomerate.
His experience before joining the Mechala Group,
included three years as the assistant to, and sometimes
acting Production Manager at Dunlop Corbin Communications,
one of the largest and most respected Advertising
Agencies in Jamaica.
He has a background in business and marketing, having
studied business before joining Dunlop Corbin Communications,
and Marketing while working with the Mechala Group.
He and his company are members of the Private
Sector Organisations of Jamaica (PSOJ), and his
interests include writing, numismatics, philanthropy,
poetry, art and music.
